How I Spent My Saturday Night!!! [Jan. 7th, 2006|10:18 pm]
Well, we've been talking about it for over two years now, but finally Jason and I broke down and got new mattresses. We both got queen mattresses, (two queens for two Queens) and oh crap are they HUGE. The top sits almost three and a half feet off the ground. I feel like the Princess and the Pea whenever I get into it. Almost need a footstool. Anyhoo, we've been shopping for bedding all day and I finally decided on a set I saw at Nautica.

Here's the boxspring and the bedskirt both before...

...and after. You can see how high the bed sits.

And just as my mother beat..er..I mean taught me, I ironed the sheets...

...and pillowcases. The only steamy action I've had in a while....HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH...I laugh cuz it's soooo.....sad.:(

Here's the orange cream colored bedsheet and flatsheet. Please observe the crisp hospital corners. Jay asked if I wouldn't feel like I was sleeping in lobster bisque......mmmmmmm......lobster bisque......drrrrrroooooool....

Here are the shams and the little pillow tying in the whole nautical theme. Hmmm....very gay.

And there goes the comforter in khaki with matching nautical blue stripes.

And VOILA!! The whole thing tied together. I wasn't sure about the creamy orange, but it's really growing on me and it's not as orange as I thought it would be.

And a closeup of the pillows and sheets....oh yeah...I'm ULTRA gay now. And THAT ladies and gentlemen, is how I spent my Saturday night!! And now to soak my feet and then climb into my new plush bed.

(no subject) [Dec. 27th, 2005|07:36 pm]
Ughhhh....days like these make me want to kill myself. Okay. Not really. I've been stumbling around limping because I injured my Achilles heel in my right foot after I returned from Disney World. And wouldn't you know it? After limping around these past two weeks putting most of the weight and pressure on the left foot, I wake up this morning to a nice surprise. My right foot has healed but now it's the left foot's turn to be fucked up!!! I might as well just chop off both feet and switch to a wheelchair. FUCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!

So my neighbor across the hall practically called me out several weeks ago by saying, "I guess it's time to decorate the doors for Christmas." Mind you our doors are inside and the only people who see it in our building are us and them since we're the only ones on this end of the building. Plus any friends or family that come to visit. But while shopping for a simple wreath at the flower market, I got caught up in this holly wreath and garland with berries that I just had to have for way too much money. Jason thinks it's hilarious that the rest of the building is unaware of the "war" being waged on our quiet side of the building.

My neighbor's door across the hall. She decided to use the same decorations from last year. A country type of wreath made of twigs and pinecones with ribbons.

I had to have this holly wreath with berries and this garland made of something called Jerusalem something or another. I had never heard or seen of it but it's so different from the usual garland made of fir or another Christmas type of tree. It's almost like ivy.

Back From Disney World [Dec. 13th, 2005|12:32 pm]
Whew!! I'm still exhausted from my trip even though I got back Sunday afternoon. I and my friends certainly did a whole lot. And it was so wonderful having Eileen along as well. Here's a pic from Mickey's Christmas party.

Christmas Tree Is Up [Nov. 29th, 2005|11:20 pm]
Jason and I went tree hunting at a tree farm in Half Moon Bay. After trudging up a hill and spending 30 minutes trying to find the perfect tree, and then cutting it down and dragging it home, I finally got it all decorated tonight. We had to trim it some more because it was kind of crooked, but I'm happy with the outcome. I thought I was going to run out of ornaments, but wouldn't you know it. I had more than enough. The before and after pics don't do it justice as it's very pretty all lit up in the dark. It's a pretty tree I think. Now I just need to get a new tree topper since the other one is too small.

That's The Way the Supreme Court Crumbles [Nov. 28th, 2005|12:21 pm]
The NY Times is reporting with pics of pieces of marble falling from the court facade and shattering on the front steps. Oh, dear. Is this a sign that the Republic is in trouble? That the newly appointed and soon to be appointed justices don't hold favor with the gods? What is one to make of the crumbling facade of the Supreme Court? Oh, I'm sure we'll get some theories and some will be doozies!! Make of it as you will. One person's falling marble due to maintenace neglect is another person's sign from God.

The Virgin Crys [Nov. 26th, 2005|07:48 pm]
Looks like Mary The Holy Virgin is taking time off from her busy schedule as Mother of God so she can make an appearance at a Catholic church in Sacramento. Seems that a statue of Mary has been crying a substance that looks like blood. And for Catholics a crying statue of Mary is just a big 'ol welcome sign to grab your rosary and head on down to see the statue and pray before it and ask Mary to fulfill your heart's desire. Well, it's definitely a step up from making an appearance in a tortilla I guess.

Mother Nature Bites Back Bitch!! [Nov. 26th, 2005|04:32 pm]
Black Bear Bites Pa. Hunter Who Shot It
By MARK SCOLFORO, Associated Press Writer
Friday, November 25, 2005

(11-25) 16:36 PST Harrisburg, Pa. (AP) --

A black bear bit and clawed a hunter who had just shot it four times in what game authorities said appeared to be a first for the state.

Samuel H. Beauchamp, 47, said he was approaching the downed 320-pound bear in Rothrock State Forest in central Pennsylvania on Monday, the first day of bear-hunting season, when it came after him.

Beauchamp, of Newville, had just shot the bear with a .444-caliber rifle and was within 15 feet of it. He turned to run, but the bear put a claw around his hip and bit him twice, once in each thigh, before dying.

Superman Returns!! [Nov. 26th, 2005|11:52 am]
Burrr...you get weather in the 70s and then give it a week and the weather is back to what it should be for the fall. Currently 54 degrees and it's a little windy. Very clear out and I can see the waves crashing on the beach. Finally got that package to Nea in Iraq. Hope the PSP and the games takes his mind off of his current situation...even if it's for a little while.

Got to see Harry Potter yesterday. Very good!! All the boys are growing up quite nicely!! LOL! Saw a teaser preview for Superman and I am THRILLED!! I have to admit Superman is my favorite superhero and I can't wait to see what Bryan Singer will do for the franchise. He did a great job with X-Men and hopefully he'll do the same with the man of steele. I also have to admit I was a little teary eyed as well during the teaser. Sniff sniff. And the new Superman is kinda hot!!
